This detached character cottage in West Quantoxhead sleeps four people in two bedrooms.

Moonfleat Cottage is a detached character cottage in the Somerset village of West Quantoxhead. Upstairs, a king-size double room leads via an archway to a twin room. Downstairs is a shower room, a kitchen, a dining room with sofabed and a sitting room with woodburner. Outside is off road parking for one car and a rear patio with furniture, then steps leading up to a lawned garden. Moonfleat Cottage is a great base for walking, with trails running past the door, and also for enjoying the countryside, visiting Wells and Glastonbury, or heading to the coast.

Depressing and poorly maintained
We booked this cottage for one week and thankfully our booking agent found us another property after 3 days. The downstairs room has two old and stained settees which I would not sit on without a cover. The upstairs rooms are fine for a cottage this old, although the arrangement of cupboards in one of the bedrooms is very strange. The furniture downstairs is just old pieces from various decades and the standard lamp is broken in the middle. The kitchen and bathroom are awful and there is mould on one of the bathroom walls. There is a dirty old curtain on the bathroom door. There seems to have been no maintenance to the outside of the property - weeds and nettles outside the back door and steep steps to the upper garden with no handrail. We sat on the bench provided on the lawn and found it broken. All in all, our holiday was spoiled because of the lack of maintenance to this property and we were glad to leave.

A good location for sightseeing and a lovely cottage to come back to and relax. There were beautiful views from the top garden and it was very dog friendly. There were lovely walks from doorstep and lots of tea rooms serving home baked food while visiting places of interest.
