East Sussex Historic Buildings

St john's Hospital was an almshouse established in the late 13th century to care for destitute elderly residents of Winchelsea. All that remains today is a gable wall, still standing to full height. In the fields beyond are the turf-covered remains of the medieval suburbs of the town.
