Formally an 18th Century coaching inn a great deal of care has been taken to ensure that the building still retains much of its original character and charm.

Indeed the hotel prides itself on providing a welcoming home-from-home atmosphere a boast made all the easier by comfortable surroundings and friendly capable staff. With the glories of the North Yorkshire countryside right on the doorstep this Hotel offers the unbeatable combination of convenience and accessibility. Each of the 17 en-suite rooms is tastefully decorated and fully equipped with all the necessary amenities to satisfy even the most discerning traveller.

Every room includes a remote controlled TV and tea & coffee making facilities. There is a range of room types available including double twin and family options and for those wishing to treat themselves Some of the luxurious Superior Rooms offer King Size Beds and flat-screen TVs. No trip to The Ganton Greyhound would be complete without first sampling the delights of the on-site Restaurant.

Having garnered an impressive reputation for their freshly prepared food the Hotel is committed to using locally sourced produce wherever possible. They specialise in providing traditional home-cooked British dishes created with care and served by friendly helpful staff. Offering Sunday lunch Sunday dinner and evening ? La Carte menus the restaurant is backed by an extensive bar list or beers lagers spirits a range of fine wines and soft drinks.

The restaurant offers a warm and inviting atmosphere with a burning log fire and views overlooking the garden it is the perfect dining setting whatever the occasion. There is also a large bar area great for enjoying a quiet drink or a chat with friends. English weather permitting the sizeable beer garden is ideal for soaking up the sun whilst appreciating the joys of alfresco dining.

Please note the restaurant is available 6 nights a week and closed Sunday evenings. Also the restaurant is only available for lunch on Sundays. The Ganton Greyhound occupies a unique position in the heart of the North Yorkshire countryside.

Its location is remote enough to guarantee a peaceful and relaxing stay yet is still within easy reach of a range of nearby attractions and points of interest. Indeed they are literally next door to the impressive championship courses at Ganton Golf Club and offer special concessions to patrons. A brief 25-minute drive later and guests can find themselves exploring the stunning landscapes of the North Yorkshire Moors National Park.

Here visitors can wander through dark woods saunter through picturesque villages or just pause and allow the stunning vistas to take away their breath. There are also opportunities to take part in a variety of outdoor activities from long walks and rambles to cycling and horse-riding there is something for everyone to enjoy. A 30-minute drive from the Hotel is Castle Howard one of England s grandest Baroque mansions.

This magnificent 18th Century residence is set within 1000 acres of breathtaking landscape in the Howardian Hills an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. Visitors can look forward to enjoying world-renowned collections stunning architecture inspiring family stories and idyllic gardens. Just on the outskirts of the nearby market town of Malton is the multi-award winning Modern History Theme Museum of Eden Camp.

Housed within the grounds of an original World War Two prisoner of war camp it offers a superb re-creation of the sights and sounds of Wartime Britain. F
