The Story Behind the Image - Isle of Lewis, Scotland
The Isle of Lewis simply one of the most incredibly scenic areas I have ever had the pleasure of photographing. I only wish I had had more time to explore it!
I took this photo while I was on my way to catch the ferry at Tarbert to the Isle of Skye and then on to the Scottish mainland. I was simply driving along the road south from Stornoway towards Tarbert in the early morning when the sun rose above the horizon and flooded the land with golden light.
I saw a lonely cottage standing beside a small loch and just had to stop and photograph it.
I only had time for 2 or 3 photos before I had to get on my way again to catch the ferry. I set up my tripod immediately next to my car on the road verge. This is the result.
