Perfect retreat for a week with amazing views, no stress, and everything in hand.
We stayed at the Granary Cottage from Friday June 25th for 1 week, This was a wonderful place to re-charge after non stop tiring work for 12 months. We were greeted by the adorable Eileen, who left us all sorts of extra goodys in the cottage. We met Eileen and her son the next morning for a lovely long chat, and that afternoon in the Saturday sunshine, we met two lovely guests from the cottage next door who were also there for a week, "W" and "B". That evening we had a cheeseboard at the front of the cottage with some amazing views, followed by many cosy evenings in front of the TV with the curtains left open to take in that amazing view. Eileen could not do enough for us, even bought over a spare new frying pan for us, to allow even more items on our full english breakfasts, she even bought over a large tub of fresh strawberries and much more. There were loads of places to visit, all within driving distance, Shrewsbury, Newtown, Welshpool, Oswestry, Powis Castle and Gardens, Museums, Glansevern Hall Gardens, Dingle Gardens, Lake Bala, Lake Vyrnwy and the Rhiw Valley Light Railway Scenic Trip. If I had to pick the best day out, to be honest, Derwen Garden Centre with the Maze and Farm Shop and Restaurant would be the most memorable, followed by Lake Vyrnwy, but a week was just not long enough, as there are hundreds of places to visit and explore. There were also lots of supermarkets within reach for that feast night in, Sainsburys, Morrisons, Spar, Londis, and I have to say, Oswestry was one of my personal favourite places with some great stores, ie. B&M, Poundland, HomeBargains, Wilkinsons, with free parking in Sainsburys Oswestry if you spend £5 or more. Overnights at the cottage were truly superb in a bed that felt like you were sleeping on air. The cottage also had a spacious kitchen, fridge/freezer, modern cooker / microwave, and piping hot water in the kitchen and modern bathroom. We have booked again for next Summer and cannot wait. Thank you again to Eileen for making the stay even more fun and for all she have done for us to make such a memorable holiday. I have enclosed some great photos, as words just cannot explain how amazing this holiday was, so much so, that we rebooked again while still at the cottage. As an added extra, parking is right next to you on the private land, there is free wifi (BT), many FREE channels on the TV courtesy of the Sky Box, and no problem with 3g 4g signal for your phones on Vodafone, Three, O2 (Tesco) etc. Front and Rear Garden areas, with stunning views on all sides. Cannot wait for next year again June 2022.

A beautiful cottage in an amazing setting
This cottage is my idea of perfection. A building with thick stone walls and gorgeous wooden fittings. Inside the owner has provided everything you could wish for making it a home from home. On arrival the owner had left home made cake, eggs, milk and all the usual things like tea and coffee as well as many more welcoming touches too numerous to mention. There are two private patio areas to use and the view is spectacular. A few miles away is Llanfair Caeirinion with a steam train ride to Welshpool, I would certainly recommend it. The cottage is close to many walking trails and Snowdonia national park is about half an hour ride away. I would strongly recommend The Granary and will definitely be returning in the future.

The owner of The Granary has gone to extraordinary lengths to ensure guests want or need for nothing for a comfortable and relaxing stay. That alone, should ensure a future booking from me.
