Dingle Gardens

Dingle Garden is a four-acre garden on a very steep south-facing slope. The garden beds have been planted in harmonious colour themes, and there are a number of conifers for year-round interest. Best viewed in: early summer and fall.

The garden dates to the late 1960s when the Joseph family began to develop an area of farmland beside their Dingle Nursery business. The garden is still run by the Joseph family, and now stretches to 4.5 acres. The result is a secluded natural space, acclaimed internationally and an official partner of the RHS (Royal Horticultural Society).

The Dingle boasts carefully themed garden areas, planted by colour. There are wide lawns and lakeside gardens, with mixed beds full of unusual plants. There are large numbers of rare plants, trees, and shrubs, and the sheltered dell makes The Dingle a haven for wildlife.

There are sculptures planted around the garden, winding gravel paths, and quiet places to site and enjoy the scent and sounds.

Bring your binoculars and go bird watching, or simply stroll past beds full of a large variety of unusual and colourful plants. Dogs on leads are allowed, and there is plenty of space for children to run about. There is a small charge for entry, and the garden is open daily throughout the year except for the Christmas holidays. Discounted entry for RHS members.
