Cairngorms Self Catering cottage, Tombeck, Tomintoul, sleeps 8

Great base for holiday in the Highlands
Tombeck was an excellent base for our holiday in the Highlands. We were 20 minutes from the Lecht ski area, just over an hour from Glenshee, and the same to Cairngorm, so it was ideally located to move around depending on where the best snow was. It was so comfy and cosy, and was really like a home away from home. The beds were comfy, and bed linen and towels were very high quality. The furnishings were all excellent, stylish and functional. There were a number of little touches which we really appreciated and made us feel at home, like Yankee Candles, Bose speakers, Nespresso machine (with selection of pods)and AppleTV. The kitchen was fully equipped with good quality cutlery and crockery and had everything we needed when we cooked at home. Having three bathrooms was perfect for us, and they were all well appointed. It really is as lovely as it looks in the photographs. There was ample off-street private parking, the street was very quiet (despite the location opposite a primary school) and it's only a minutes walk to the local Post Office and shop. We ate out at the local pub and the food and banter were excellent. All in all, very highly recommended!
