Slightly further a field is Carnforth with its delightfully nostalgic railway station which is the location for the cult film 'Brief Encounter'.
You can still catch a steam train here or visit the famous refreshment room with award winning Visitor Centre. Further still but in easy reach is the beautiful Lake District. Here you can have a relaxing cruise around Windermere shop or just take in the amazing views.
