Corbel head, Ashbury St Mary Church

Corbel head, Ashbury St Mary Church

In the north transept a low niche is set into the wall. This would originally have been a receptacle for a tomb. The stonework is supported on a pair of decorative corbels. This is the best preserved of the pair.
