Corgarff Castle photo, Corgarff Castle

Corgarff is a fantastically situated fortified tower house in a bowl of bleak hills, near Tomintoul, on the fringe of the Cairngorms National Park. The castle was built in the 16th century and was converted into military barracks in 1748, following the collapse of Bonnie Prince Charlie's Highland rising.
