Kilchurn Castle photo, Kilchurn Castle

Kilchurn Castle stands on a promontory jutting out into Loch Awe, near Lochawe village. The castle was built around 1550 and later enlarged. It is in the care of Historic Scotland, and in my view is one of the most beautifully scenic castles in Scotland.
