Poor -The shower is either hot or cold (which is handheld over the bath as advertised). The feed through the pipe does not allow the cold to mix with the hot which makes it pretty unusable. The bathroom was dirty.
-The carpet was dirty and stained and smelt awful. We tried to vacuum when we arrived , the hoover smells really unpleasant and left a cheesy, vomit type smell throughout the property.
-There were smears and fingerprints over the furniture
-Saucepans in the kitchen cupboards were dirty and filled with water
-there were no oven trays
-there were no oven gloves
-The beds are rickety as is the stair wall (balustrade), my son fall against it and it almost collapsed.
-The garden is so overgrown that you can cannot get down the path without getting scratched
-The bbq is tiny and is approx 6 inches off the ground. You can?t cook more than a couple of sausages on it and would need to crouch down on the floor while doing so.
-almost all the lamp bulbs were not working. There were no appropriate spares.
-There was loud live music friday, saturday, sunday afternoon and evening (from around 1pm until late) from the pub opposite. Our children could not sleep and we could not have a conversation without shouting, (we accept this is outside of the owners control but is apparently a common occurrence).
-only 4 tiny bath towels were provided for 5 guests, the towels don?t even wrap around our 4 year olds bodies
-windows are filthy and don?t look they have been cleaned for a very long time.
-could not locate an outside rubbish bin and as we have a child in nappies it meant we had to leave bin bags in the garden. JulsP70 2018-09-10
Disgruntled guests Visited this cottage weekend of the 16th September 2017. It is in a great location. We found it not as described on the adverts, dirty bathroom, dust on window sills and lampshades. The cottage felt generally stuffy.
The rail by the staircase was very wobbly, compromising health and safety for guests especially kids. Tsitsitsi1970 2017-09-21

Delightful cottage close to all amenities We really enjoyed our stay at Overton Bank. It's a delightful cottage suitable for a family. Clearly it is a small property but that is part of its charm and it has been cleverly fitted out to make maximum use of the space. Five of us stayed here (two adults, one teenager and two younger children) but the size of the cottage certainly wasn't an issue and we all loved the experience of staying in such an old and interesting cottage. Car parking was no problem and we were always able to park close to the cottage. It was very nice being able to walk everywhere and not having to use the car. We would definitely stay here again and are hoping to do so next year. Paul B 2014-11-14
We thoroughly enjoyed staying in such an old and interesting building. Although the cottage is small the space has been adapted thoughtfully and creatively, with the d?cor in keeping with this lovely old cottage. The owners have provided a selection of local history books that give a good background to Overton Bank and Leek as a whole. The cottage is ideally situated right in the centre of town, we really appreciated having shops, places to eat and walks in the park just a short distance away. We would definitely stay here again and hope to do so in the future. Mr Brinsley 2014-11-01
