We arrived at 3pm which is stated check in time, we walked in to dirt all over the floor, dog food and bowls on the KITCHEN sides, a dishwasher full of dirty crockery and a dirty unpleasant smell. The hygiene of this property is zero to none. We continued through the cottage to find dirty underwear in the wash bin within the bathroom, cobwebs/spiders everywhere. The upstairs bedroom was a complete state with the bed sheets being filthy dirty, and unmade as if someone had just jumped out of bed and left all their rubbish on the way out. The places smells damp and musky and the landlady is rude and ignorant. We called to say the state of the place was disgusting not to mention to dog foul all over the garden. Jo, the landlady seemed apologetic and told us to leave for another couple of hours whilst the cleaners came in, so we did. We phoned once 2 hours had passed and were told the ?cleaners? were just finishing and we could go back in 20 minutes time. When we arrived back there was a note on the kitchen side, saying ?Unfortunately I was unable to get hold of the cleaners so I?ve had to improvise. I couldn?t find the clean bedding so I have had to use a mattress topper on the beds as sheets, sorry for the inconvenience? So not only had we been lied too, we were still expected to sleep in dirty bed covers and mattress toppers as sheets, after paying £1000+ for a one week stay. The dishwasher was still full, the dirty laundry was still in the bin, the dog foul was still in the garden and not one cobweb had been dusted. Her friend arrived with bed sheets from her airing cupboard that she said ?they aren?t very clean but I hope it helps?. Absolutely disgusting. I have 2 young children COVERED in bites from what I can only imagine are flea bites from the landlady's dog. We stayed one night as it was too late to find any other sleeping arrangements, I say sleep but we stayed awake the majority of the night with blankets we had brought ourselves. We left very early the following morning leaving the keys in the key safe, explained the situation and that we would like a refund from the day we left and jo, the landlady said she would do it. She lied, again. Still we have had no refund and the company it was booked through has said she has refused the refund. Absolutely disgusting cottage, dirty, unhygienic and the lady land is extremely RUDE!!!!!!! AVOID AT ALL COST, spend your money on premier inn, you'd have a much more pleasant stay I?m sure. Never have I ever seen something so DISGUSTING!!!!
