Following a £400 000 make-over the White Mare in Beckermet located in the Western Lakes provides accommodation for discerning business and leisure customers. This coaching inn has retained many traditional features which combined with modern decor and furniture maintains a relaxed country feel. Our rooms are located in a picturesque courtyard and have been fitted with new bathroom suites new bedroom furniture (including king size beds) and are tastefully redecorated throughout.

Our kitchen uses the highest quality fresh local ingredients to produce delicious food prepared by our award winning Chef Norma Bell. Enjoy fine wines and spirits premium lagers or a real ale from our well stocked bar. Alternatively try one of our speciality gins or malt whiskies.

All our rooms are located in a picturesque courtyard with an outdoor private seating area for residents. Our six fully refurbished Executive rooms have been fitted with new bathroom suites new bedroom furniture (including king size beds) and have been tastefully redecorated throughout with a modern and comfortable feel. Our back-care ortho support mattresses and Egyptian cotton sheets are sure to provide a good night's sleep while free internet access and new flat screen TVs will provide all you need for a relaxing stay.

We also have two twin bedrooms again fully refurbished with original bathrooms and for something a bit different ask for the Red Rum or White Mare suites that offer something special for both business clients and tourists alike. Conference facilities and private dinning are available; our new restaurant area has been fitted with a folding door screen to provide private conferencing and dining areas for business clients. Seating up to 30 people the room is fully equipped with a state of the art projector and screen plus all the equipment you would expect from a quality business venue.
