Accommodation Description:

The Shoulder of Mutton is a traditional country pub located in the heart of rural Northumberland between Morpeth and Alnwick. We're the perfect stop off point for journeys between England and Scotland or for those wishing to base themselves in a central location.

The village of Longhorsley is situated seven miles northwest of Morpeth and 14 miles south from Alnwick. It is bordered on the north by the river Coquet and lies on the Morpeth to Wooler road [A 697]. The village formally lay in three separate townships which were known as Bigge's Quarter Freeholders Quarter and Riddells Quarter.

The Shoulder of Mutton is located close to the renowned Northumbrian coast just 25 minutes from the buzzing city of Newcastle upon Tyne 30 minutes from the Cheviot Hills and well within reach of Hadrians Wall if you fancied a day trip. We are a charming traditional country inn full of character. Our comfortable bar serves up a great range of food and drink or for something a bit special you can dine in 'The Boundary Restaurant' and choose from a huge selection of regional national and international dishes.

Our rooms are simple light and spacious with televisions and tea and coffee making facilities and we offer a very competitive bed and breakfast rate.
