Gardens to visit in Shropshire
The estate of Hodnet dates back to the time of the Domesday Book, and there have been gardens in one form or another at Hodnet since the 11th century. The gardens we see today are almost entirely a product of the 20th century, and the 60 acres of landscaped grounds, formal and informal gardens together make up one of the finest landscape gardens in England.

A magnificently colourful Arts and Crafts style garden surrounds a 16th-century timber-framed hall house. The modern gardens are divided by hedges and stone walls into distinct garden rooms, each with a unique style and colour scheme. Features include a small rill running through a stone-lined canal, and clipped topiary.
