The ideal Shropshire retreat
From the moment we booked this family break to celebrate my Wife's 50th I felt confident that this would be perfect. The owner, Ian, was a pleasure to deal with prior to arriving and welcomed us upon our arrival to ensure that we were suitably comfortable.
Glebe Barn itself is a fantastic place to locate yourself for a break near Ludlow and the surrounding Shropshire countryside.
We stayed with our Son, Daughter, their partners and our Grandson and the Barn was more than large enough to allow us all to relax without feeling on top of each other. The large, high spec kitchen is a fantastic place to spend mealtimes and contains all the basics you need to be suitably catered for. The lounge area was extremely relaxing with an array of comfortable leather furniture and a wood-burning stove that made it hard to leave at the end of our break.
All bedrooms are extremely comfortable and wee laid out with the master, family and double all ideal for their purpose.
During our stay, we had rabbits, pheasants and red kites during the day and we particularly enjoyed listening to the community of tawny owls hooting during the evening and nighttime.
The whole place was spotlessly clean and fresh, which we were keen to maintain during our stay and prior to leaving. To conclude, what else could we have asked for?????.Nothing

Excellent
This barn is excellent, everything you need is on site, the owners are on site to give assistance if needed but not watching over us. Would certainly recommend and a lovely place to share for a family occasion.

Superb place, stunning views
Just got back from a family weekend at the barn and I have to say the place was superb.
There were 6 adults and 2 children in our party (4 year old and 7 month old boys)
The views from the barn are stunning, open fields for miles around.
There's a nice big area for children to play inside the barn gates but over the field is a swing, chickens and a trampoline.
The people who own the property are very friendly and helpful, nothing was too much trouble.
They made sure the BBQ was available for us and we were lucky with the weather so all went well.
The living room is very spacious with 3 sofas and 2 single seater, the kitchen is huge with a massive dining room table.
The bedrooms were nice and big and the main bathroom was nice and big with a bath and walk in shower.
The tv is a bit old BUT we only put it on for dvds for the kids so this didn't effect our stay at all.
There is a log fire which was nice on the first night.
I couldn't fault this place and would definitely love to go back. I can imagine it's gorgeous at Christmas time.
Location is ideal only 2 miles from Ludlow.
All in all we had a brilliant time and I cannot recommend this place highly enough.
Great for a family weekend or week holiday.

Fun family holiday
We had a lovely fortnight at the Glebe Barn with our two young children aged 2 and 5. It is beautiful, spacious, well-equipped and well-laid-out; great for playing hide-and seek!
There is a lovely lawned garden with table and chairs, a large umbrella and clothes airer; and 'field' beyond that has a trampoline, swing, chicken coop and tons of space to run around.
The owners and their parents were very friendly, lending us some garden toys, giving us fresh eggs and clean linen and towels during our stay.
We really appreciated having the dishwasher, washer/drier and wonderful power showers! We cooked many meals in the huge kitchen - Ludlow is a real foodie place and we enjoyed buying some lovely local produce. There is a market nearly everyday, farmers market and well-priced butcher.
The barn has a small selection of books, DVDs, jigsaw puzzles and a few games. We found the local info. pamphlets very useful. The recently installed wifi was great with a good, strong signal, mobile phone reception is good here too. The TV has freesat, but unfortunately didn't have the CBeebies channel :-(. There is no CD or MP3 player, but there was a DAB radio in the kitchen.
The 3 sofas and 2 chairs in the living room were practical but not comfortable and the plastic material left us feeling rather sweaty. There were also many cobwebs throughout the barn. However, the Glebe Barn is well set up for families. Our youngest was comfortable in the large wooden cot. The highchair was a bit tired, but invaluable once we figured out how to strap him in! I should also mention that there is black-out lining on the curtains in the two double rooms, which we really appreciated, but not in the family room.
There are some great local attractions that proved to be good places to visit with the children:
Ludlow Castle, Croft Castle, Hampton Court Castle, Severn Valley Railway, The Waterworks Museum (Hereford), shropshire Hills Discovery Centre, swimming at Teme Leisure, local playgrounds in Ludlow and Tenbury Wells.

Glebe Barn was probably the best cottage we experienced .... and that's across western Europe and UK. We still return to Ludlow when passing through, the owners were kind and helpful.
