Lincoln Time Travel Pass
Posted: 2009-06-12Lincolnshire Tourism has come up with a useful way to save a bit of money when visiting some of the major historic attractions in Lincoln. Its called the Lincoln Time Travel Pass, and it allows free entry to three historic Lincoln visitor attractions for the price of one ticket.
The three attractions are:
- Lincoln Cathedral - this superb cathedral is one of the great medieval buildings of England. Look for the magnificent 'crazy vaulting' in the choir.
- Lincoln Castle - facing the cathedral is the historic castle, begun by William the Conqueror in the 11th century. One of the original copies of the Magna Carta is housed in a special exhibition centre within the castle.
- Medieval Bishops Palace - the remains of the 12th-century palace of the powerful Bishops of Lincoln stands in the shadow of the cathedral.
In addition, the Museum of Lincolnshire Life offers pass holders a 10% discount in their shop upon presentation of a Time Travel Pass online booking voucher.
Two forms of the Lincoln Time Travel Pass are available; an adult pass, which is priced at GBP 9.99, and a family pass (good for two adults and three children), which is priced at GBP 19.99. The adult pass saves over GBP 3 from normal admission prices, while the family pass will cost GBP 10 less than normal admission.
Passes can be purchased online from the Lincolnshire Tourism website, Visit Lincolnshire. Lincoln Time Travel Pass is good for three days, which should give ample time to visit and revisit each attraction as many times as you choose! Passes are good all year round, except on special dates.
I rather wish I'd known about the Time Travel Pass when the Britain Express family visited Lincoln last year - we would have saved a bit of money on admission costs!
