A wonderful, detached barn conversion, one of two holiday cottages two miles from Alderwasley in Derbyshire, sleeping five people (four adults) in two bedrooms.

Fletchers Barn is a lovely, detached barn conversion, one of two holiday properties on the owners' working livestock farm, located in beautiful rural Derbyshire. With two super king-size double bedrooms, one set on the ground floor, and one on the first floor with a child’s sofa bed, along with a ground floor wet room, this cottage can sleep five people (four adults). Both bedrooms can be conveniently converted into twins on request.

There is also an open plan living area with a kitchen, dining area and a sitting area with a woodburner. Outside is off road parking for two cars, plus a patio garden with furniture and BBQ. There is also a shared games room with pool table and darts board in an adjacent, external building.

Fletchers Barn offers couples and friends a wonderful base, with a mix of both modern luxury and traditional farmhouse charm. Note: This cottage has a Disability rating Grade 1. Note: There are narrow stairs in this property.

Total comfort
We had a much needed three night break. Despite the weather being dire, it was just what the doctor ordered. Comfortable and well-equipped. Ruth was very friendly and welcoming. Fruit, milk and wine left for us on arrival. In some self catering places you have to take your own tea towels and toilet rolls, not here. Plenty are supplied. The log burner made it like home from home. We had no problem turning the heating on or off according to the temperature. I didn't even miss having a dishwasher as we ate ready meals every night! Take your time on the narrow road, you will encounter tractors and possibly even an articulated lorry. Would definitely return.

Lovely cottage
Lovely cottage. It was a great base for us to explore the Peak District with our two kids, aged 6 and 8. There's a decked area out the back which gets full sun in the morning and another seating area in the front which gets the sun in the afternoon. The cottage is on a working farm and we enjoyed sometimes looking out to see the cows and sheep looking in at us! Ruth was very friendly and helpful. The woods across the road are a lovely place for a local walk. Would definitely recommend.

Would I stay here again ?
Definitely :) stayed as two couples, a beautiful cottage well furnished, lovely comfortable beds high end bedding, lovely touch with the wine and fruit thank you, every thing you could possibly need for self catering WiFi and tv and CD player, the owners are lovely and helpful. Two seating areas outside with lovely views of the cows and sheep grazing, a games room however that could do with a sort out but not an issue, we had a game of pool and darts, two bedrooms one upstairs massive with room for a cot, the downstairs one next to the wet room could easily fit wheelchair in, shower curtain in wet room could do with changing however not an issue, towels are provided along with hairdryer, ironing board and fans if needed, washing machine, fridge with small freezer compartment but extra freezer in the games room, there is a wood burner and radiators set on a timer, the cottage was lovely warm and cosy. Great as a base for cyclists or like us with a car to explore the Peak District, excellent farm shop not far excellent quality meat and poultry fresh eggs. We had a meal at the Bulls head which is not far from the cottage, was lovely. We felt very comfortable and would definitely stay again. Thank you for making us feel so welcome

Warm welcome to a wonderful property
Well placed property, very close to the Peak District National Park, we were warmly welcomed by Ruth after booking at very short notice. A bottle of wine and milk was a lovely touch and much appreciated, as was the very comfortable, very well stocked accommodation. A huge double bed upstairs, with a second double bedroom downstairs, next to the wet room. Everything was provided, even the crockery matched! We found the attractive property very warm and comfortable. If the weather permits, there is a choice of two seating areas immediately outside, offering sun at all times of day and lovely views of the nearby fields where the cows graze. The games room is well provided with pool table and leaflets of the local area, including very useful maps. All in all, a wonderful stay in a place we felt lucky to discover. I?m sure we'll be back.

Fantastic cottage
Brilliant cottage, great location, owner very nice. Hope to go again. Well maintained, nice and clean, good quality internet (important for us as our phones just wouldn't get a signal there).
