Perfect holiday cottage
Stayed at bowlers yard cottage for a week in September, as soon as walked into the cottage it smelt clean, it was immaculate, so spacious, it looked newly done but obviously from previous reviews it isn't new, it's just kept perfectly. The cottage, (or bungalow) had absolutely everything you could possibly want, there was a huge bowl of fresh fruit, vase of beautiful fresh flowers, milk in the fridge, and a bottle of the apple juice made at the vineyard (unfortunately they had sold all the wine!!) Yes the sofa was the only item that was a little worse for wear, but even that was comfy, and as we had a dog it was nice to have him cuddle up on there. The only thing I would suggest is take a shower cap if you don't want to get hair wet, as the shower is really lovely, but you can't use it as hand held. Some nice walks, dovedale was about an hour away, but well worth the journey, beautiful. 10 out of 10 for the accommodation for cleanliness, equipment, hospitality and everything else. Perfect.

Immaculate and in a unique vineyard setting
The converted stables is well decorated and immaculate (apart from the huge sofa which is to be replaced soon) and spotlessly clean. Impressed by the well-planned open space as well as the amount of good quality kitchen equipment; yet still enough space for food storage (lack of food storage space is a too frequent problem in many holiday properties). Very comfortable beds, and a well stocked library of books and DVDs. It is in a quiet rural location with the relaxing sounds of birds with bucolic views over fields from the sunny patio and decked area, and set in a vineyard with free-roaming chickens. The on-site vineyard owner Johnathon is a very enthusiastic winemaker. He gave us a tour and tasting and the rest of the bottle to finish later. Easy access to several National Trust or English Heritage properties and other attractions, as well as trails through Sherwood Forest.

Such a lovely cottage
We absolutely loved our week visit at Bowler yard cottage. All the little extras made it a very cosy and welcoming accommodation. Flowers, coffee, biscuits, milk ect everything was here for us. This place is very clean and well kept. It is beautiful in the winter I can only imagine the summer. Thank you for a lovely stay and we look forward to returning one day.
