Be welcomed in through the front door to find yourself in the fabulous open-plan living space, stepping atop the high quality stone flooring fitted with underfloor heating. Pass the door to the handy cloakroom, home to a basin and WC, before exploring the exquisite grey kitchen, with pristine white worktops fitted above an excellent range of appliances, sure to inspire some tasty home-cooking, including a large electric range cooker and hob and a dishwasher. The dining area makes for a wonderful social space, seating up to six guests, you can come together and toast to your holiday over a delicious meal.

Seek out the two local pubs within a ten-minute walk of Orchard Barn (wellies may be required!), both serving quality food, with one offering a unique dining experience in Pullman train carriages - ideal for when you want to take a night off from cooking duties. Embark on the pub walk, beginning at the Shoulder of Mutton in Fulford, heading to the Black Lake Inn on the cross roads, before finding the Boar Inn at Moddershall, a traditional local pub and home to a large pond with a variety of ducks to feed, and finally come to the Moddershall Cricket Club to delight in a refreshing drink while watching some cricket, making a great afternoon outing on a sunny day! Why not visit Harecastle Tunnel which is a canal tunnel on the Trent and Mersey Canal in Staffordshire between Kidsgrove and Tunstall.The tunnel which is less than 2 miles (2.6km) long was once one of the longets in the country.

Enjoy the whole walk which is less than 4 miles point-to-point along the Mersey Canal, and passing through the market town of Stone, well known for excellent food and drink. Take time to capturethe atmosphere pf the monthly Farmers' Market which is held on the first Saturday of every month.
