Lovely little place very close to centre of town
The photos of the downstairs have been taken by a very skilled photographer as the rooms are smaller than it looks, but perfectly suitable for 4 people.
The main bedroom is a lovely large room that could take a lot larger bed than a standard double. The 2nd bedroom is perfectly sized for 2 people. The water pressure though (especially in the bedroom) is low which makes the shower difficult to use. The stairs are steep and may not suit those for whom mobility is an issue.
The kitchen was well equipped (although there was no grill rack) with a range pf pots and pans, crockery and cutlery.
There is a small courtyard to the back that whilst it is used as a run through for 3 cottages has secure gates (which are not that high) so it is suitable for non-jumping dogs, but with the stones used it does make it difficult to clean up after the dog has done anything!)
There was a lot of welcome information/maps/guides/menus left, however the information is a year out of date - this also meant that whilst we put out the bin on the day we 'guessed was correct' it was not collected (the bin was 3/4 full when we arrived, so had to leave it full on leaving).
Parking wise, over the weekend we did have to park 3 streets away (which is not the fault of the owner) but during the week, it was quite easy to find a space close to the cottage.
Overall a nice stay, very close to town but in our opinion slightly overpriced by £100 or so

Complete disappointment
I really sorry to have to write this review but basically the cottage is sadly cheaply decorated outdated and in need of a good clean. Great position for Windermere town and it's bars but really if you have booked this cottage ring the agent !!

Brilliant short break..
Lamb cottage is pleasantly surprising. Being centrally located in expected it to be noisy at some times with passing person etc, however this was not the case.
The cottage has all of your home comforts and everything you would need, and it's lovely which (hopefully it doesnt) if it rains in your stay you can have a night in by the lovely log fire.
The service from the office is excellent and it's only a stones throw away from the cottage.
It is perfectly located for those without a car ( like ourselves) and I would definitely recommend the lamp lighter for food. If you come before the a591 (to keswick) is reopened then I would definitely use the shuttle bus that goes all along the banks of Thirlmere.
If your not that good a lighting the stove then Booths sell instant lighting logs and the petrol station nearby sells logs a lot cheaper than Booths (one or two on top of instant lighter log) although having grown up with my grandads open fire I was okay.
I would definitely recommend this cottage to anyone.

Cosy little cottage
We arrived at the cottage later than planned due to a very stressful journey, however, it was a pleasure to find it immaculate and welcoming.
It is also well placed for shops and resturants etc. Winderemere is spolit for choice when it comes to excellent places to eat!
We were lucky inasmuch as we found a parking space to the rear of the cottage, and as most things are within walking distance we didn't need to use the car very much.
