Excellent Cottage
This cottage is in a quiet courtyard just 2 minutes walk to the town centre. It has the added bonus of its own parking space. The cottage itself is very clean, comfortable and well equipped. It makes an excellent base to explore the southern lakes. We did notice a slight doggy smell but only in the hallway - no problem whatsoever for us.

Comfortable well-equipped cottage but smelling of dog!
A well- equipped cottage ideally situated in Ambleside. It was handy for walking & for eating out & the parking space was a real benefit. The downside was that the downstairs room was very gloomy & unwelcoming & unfortunately smelt strongly of dog. The carpet & furniture need shampooing as the smell didn't go after spraying air-freshener. Also, there wasn't anywhere pleasant to sit outside to escape the doggy smell!

Perfect cottage
What a great little find this was. This cottage is in the perfect location, right in the centre but far enough away from the noise of ambleside , the cottage itself has everything you would need, small little drying room for your soggy walking gear washing machine wifi and a perfectly stocked kitchen . The cottage has a large bedroom with different mood lighting and a good bathroom with large bath and overhead shower ,with the added benefit of on site parking and closeness to the bus stop this is a little gem of a cottage perfect for that walking weekend in the lakes

A superb base for a walking holiday in the Lake District
Clear and easy to follow directions brought us to the delights of Juniper Cottage and the bonus of a specific parking space right outside the door. The cottage was clean and very well laid out and had everything we needed for a comfortable and enjoyable stay. We had taken our dog with us and there was a special rug to put down for him too. They was a great selection of Dvds, books and games and maps and information of the local area. Everything had been thought of. We particularly liked having a washer/drier and the kitchen was very well appointed and had everything in it you could need. It isn't a huge cottage but neither did it feel cramped at all and for a couple it was perfect. You didn't get the feeling at all that it had been filled with unwanted furniture or kitchen equipment from someone's main home as you can sometimes get in self catering places. Ambleside has just about everything you need on a daily basis with plenty of shops and eating out options and is very pleasant for a stroll around in the evening. As the whole courtyard the cottage is in is made up of holiday lettings there was no awkwardness of getting under the feet of locals, but you were still in the midst of the local town which was nice. The only slight point would be that the bathroom could do with an update at some point as it looks a little bit tired in places (especially the ceiling) and the shower isn't the most powerful in the world. But the bathtub is huge, the hot water plentiful and that is very welcome after a day on the fells. The bed was comfortable, but the lighting in the bedroom is quite dim especially compared to downstairs and the "mood lighting" didn't work. The bed had been made up but the bottom sheet was very creased and hadn't been put on properly and the towels provided were a bit thin. Overall though we were delighted with our choice and had a very enjoyable stay and will undoubtedly be back in the future.
