Detached, stone-built barn conversion nestled on the outskirts of the small town of Meltham. Enclosed formal gardens. Woodburner.

Off-road parking. Pet-friendly. Shop and pub less than 1 miles.

Nestled at the end of a quiet, wooded lane, with a gated entrance and an enchanting, formal garden, is the beautiful Wood Bottom Farm. Boasting an idyllic position in the wonderful region of West Yorkshire, this detached, character cottage offers an escape to the countryside, with plenty of walking trails in the surrounding area. Step into the entrance hall and feel welcomed inside by exposed beams and a real sense of charm.

Kick off your walking shoes and head through to the lounge to make the most of your down time by taking in the character features as you sink into the sofa and turn on the TV, or play a board game at the coffee table. There is a fabulous ground floor family room just off from here boasting a grand piano tucked into one corner, ideal for the musically attuned and getting everyone together (see our entertainment package). You have dual aspect windows allowing plenty of natural light through and a king-size double bed followed by a single for those traveling with a child.

You have a well-equipped kitchen assisting with the cooking and a formal dining room at which you can gather at mealtimes and discuss your adventures. Just off from the reception hall is also a handy utility housing a washing machine and tumble dryer so you can do some laundry if needed. Climb the staircase to the master bedroom, where you can catch your rest in the king-size double bed, jump into the en-suite wet room or step out onto the balcony and soak up the scenery on a crisp morning with your cup of coffee.

This floor is finished with a family bathroom, ideal for long hot soaks in the tub, a double bedroom and another family room, each offering beautiful fixtures and fittings. Outside you can enjoy a spot of alfresco dining on the patio and drink in the country atmosphere all around you on a warm sunny day. Being situated right on the edge of the Peak District National Park, you have access to some fantastic walking and cycling trails, whilst close by you also have the National Trust's Marsden Moor Estate, home to a plethora of wildlife and varied walks.

The nearby town of Holmfirth is worth a visit, especially for Last of the Summer Wine fanatics, and you can also explore the cities of Leeds and Sheffield. Choose this wonderful base for special occasions or just a refreshing break with the whole family in a charming part of the country.
