Monmouthshire Self Catering cottage, The Pheasant Two, Raglan, sleeps 3

Disgraceful!
Frequent travellers to rural UK and this is the first time we?ve had such an experience. Three issues: 1) latch on the door of the dryer was broken ... owner showed how she overcame that issue by placing a broom against the door. Owner was displeased that the washer and dryer were used when we were out and said that it was an insurance requirement that both equipment be operated when we were at the cottage. Now if that was really an ?insurance requirement?, wouldn?t the broken door latch be more of a problem? 2) the 'stop/start button? on instant electric shower unit didn?t work so the only way to shower was to pull the electric chord just outside the shower cubicle. Again it's an accident waiting to happen. 3) numerous ants in the cottage. Owner didn?t provide a compost bin so food bags had to be placed in a regular bin.

Our Welsh countryside escape - heavenly!
We can thoroughly recommend staying at The Pheasant 2, the 2-bedroom apartment as pictured (Trip advisor seems to have it incorrectly labelled Pheasant 1 which is the adjoining 1 bedroom unit). Recently refurbished, it is fresh, clean, modern, spacious and comfortable. Set on a farm just off the road, it is easy to access and has its own allocated parking space. The owners are welcoming, friendly and offer helpful advice about the local area. The beds are comfortable with good quality bedding and linen. The whole place is immaculately clean, well-organized and equipped with everything thing you need plus a few thoughtful extras. The location is excellent for visiting Monmouth, Abergavenny, Crickhowell, Tintern Abbey and Raglan Castle. There is a Nisa (Coop) store close by in Raglan, a Coop in Usk and a larger Morrisons in Abergavenny. We stayed here a week and hope to come back again as its convenient for a quick get away.
