excellent
Never have we stayed in such a clean and lovely rental. The owner met us on arrival and made us feel welcome. She lives in a farm house at the rear of the rental but never was she intrusive. We only saw her twice a week when she was watering the garden flowers. The cottage was of a high quality. There was a lovely home made Bara Brith cake and coffee, tea and sugar waiting for us. A small milk would of been useful, as we had to unpack to find ours. There was also a lovely vase of fresh flowers. The bed linen were of a very good quality and no marks on the duvets or pillows. Everything you would need except table spoons were supplied in the kitchen. We like to put dishes on the table and serve ourselves so tablespoons would of been useful. There is a freezer in an outside shed near the door. Which we found very useful. The fridge is of a large size. The lightening in the lounge area was very dim for reading at night. There was a table lamp but it didn't help a lot. The cottage was reached via a ramp from where the car was parked. There was a shallow step over a bar out onto the decking, which was huge and raised up about 10 feet from ground level. There was a lovely big glass topped table and 6 chairs with comfy foam cushions. The decking was surrounded with see through glass. The view was to die for over the fields and county side. It caught the afternoon and evening sun.We spent many a happy hour sitting outside. The only downside in the lounge there was only a corner sofa and it really only seated 4 comfortably, 5 if one sat in the corner but the cottage slept 6. Being disabled I could not get up off the sofa with only one arm. I solved it by taking in one of the decking chairs which were very comfortable. We pushed the sofa back a bit and put it in the corner. The bunk beds I feel would only be good for children. Pity they are not singles beds.
The cottage is situated next to a static caravan, touring caravan and tent park. Do not let it put you off as we never had any problems with noise. Yes we heard children playing a few times but they were far enough away not to be a nuisance to us. It was a very peaceful place with even the sheep belonging to the owner not making a noise, just the birds.
We have visited Anglesey every year for the last 5 years. There are so many good beaches all around. A trip to see the jets flying out of Valley is a good day out as from around the back of the runway there is a huge beach where you can drive the can onto. Walk over the sand dunes and there is a lovely sandy beach. Some beaches there is sand and rock pools and others are shingle. A visit to South Stacks lighthouse, Holyhead is very good. Only go down if you are fit as there are many steps. To stop on the top and look out to sea is lovely. There is a cafe there. Mostly we have never had any parking problems around the island.
Beaumaris is not far away and worth a trip. Children and adults like to net crabs off the pier. There is also boat trips from there. The town is very small with little to see. The castle is okay to look around. There is plenty of water side parking with views.
The cottage is near to Benlech where there is a small Tesco Express, fish and chip shop and a Chinese take away. All we have used and are okay. Pentreath is not far away and has an Asda which is of a good size.
The position of this cottage is ideal for visiting all around the island and I would highly recommend it.
