Bryn Henllan is a spectacular three-storey house centrally located within its own grounds in the lovely seaside town of Criccieth, Gwynedd, and is ideal for a large family or group, with six bedrooms sleeping up to 12 guests, and seven bathrooms. It has ample off-street parking, and enjoys stunning views of the sea and castle. It is only a short stroll to the beach and the town, with its array of eateries, pubs and shops.
This Victorian Grade II listed house has been in the owner's family for three generations and underwent a full renovation in 2022 to create a spacious, light-filled family home which blends original and contemporary features. The airy entrance hall with its Victorian tiled floor leads to the well-equipped open-plan kitchen/diner, featuring a granite-topped breakfast bar and rustic wooden dining table. Adjoining the kitchen is a spacious utility area which has a second dishwasher, a tumble dryer and two washing machines.
There is also direct access from the kitchen to the front and side terraces for al fresco dining or a BBQ. Three comfortable reception rooms provide ample space for relaxing: the sitting room adjoining the dining area and the snug just off the entrance hall both have woodburning stoves, with an assortment of books and games to enjoy as a family. The first-floor sitting room has far-reaching sea views and a large wall-mounted Smart TV.
The property's six bedrooms are spread over two floors. 1/F: four spacious en-suite double rooms, two of which can be arranged flexibly as either twin or super-king beds. 2/F: two bedrooms, a king and a twin, two contemporary bathrooms with underfloor heating, and a study with stunning views.
There are numerous family-friendly activities within easy walking distance of the house: bowling, mini-golf, excursions up Criccieth Castle, beachside saunas, walks along Marine Beach to the river Dwyfor's estuary or along the Neraig beach to Black Rock and Morfa Bychan sands. Nearby are also the attractions of Portmeirion Village, the Lloyd George Museum, Eisteddfa Fishery and Cafe, Caernarfon Castle, rides on the Mountain Railway to Snowdon, exploring the slate caverns at Llechwedd or the Sygun copper mine in Beddgelert. Plenty of sporty activities such as Glasfryn Parc's water sports, clay pigeon shooting and go karting are within easy driving distance.
The area is also rich in hiking trails and picturesque circular walks, including trekking up Snowdon or trailing through the valley at Aber Glaslyn Pass.
