One of the last privately owned villages in England, Heydon has seen no new building since the 1887 water fountain built to mark Queen Victoria's Jubilee. Historic highlights include the Tudor mansion of Heydon Hall, where Oliver Cromwell was once chased by a bull, and the beautiful 14th-century parish church of St Peter & St Paul.

Horning is a popular village in the heart of the Norfolk Broads, about 10 miles from Norwich. Horning dates to at least the Roman era. The ruins of medieval St Benet's Abbey stand on the river bank just outside the village. The abbey was the only one in Britain not destroyed by Henry VIII's men in the Dissolution of the Monasteries.

A small, attractive Broadland village, yet only a mile from the coast. A restored windpump (owned by the National Trust) sits beside Horsey staithe. The windpump was built in 1912 and operated until 1948. You can view the pump workings, and climb the tower for excellent views.

A holiday resort town on the north-west Norfolk Coast, Hunstanton was settled as early as Neolithic times. The original town here grew up at what is now Old Hunstanton. The 'new' Hunstanton grew as a resort in the Victorian period and had a fine amusement pier until 1972 when the pier was destroyed in a storm.
