Stokesay Castle photo, Stokesay Castle

Stokesay Castle, near Craven Arms, Shropshire, is most famous for its attractive timber framed gatehouse - the subject of many a tourist brochure and postcard. The gatehouse dates to the 17th century, but the core of Stokesay is the medieval great hall, and the late 12th century peel tower beside it.
