HERITAGE RATING:

Pitmuies Gardens
At Pitmuies a pair of historic walled gardens stand beside an 18th-century country house. The garden features delphinium borders, old roses, and a variety of perennial blossoms sheltered by trimmed yew hedges.
There are attractive walking trails beside the river and small lochs, shaded by rowan and maple trees. The garden provides a colourful autumn display and there are broad masses of bulbs for spring interest. Within the garden is a turreted dovecote dating to 1643, and a stylized Gothic wash-house.
