This incredibly scenic, historic area is known as the 'Centre of Britain'.
Positioned on the outskirts of Haltwhistle, this 19th century cottage is a cosy home-from-home. Offering a very high standard of accommodation, this recently refurbished property is comprised of a fully fitted kitchen, living room with dining area, two bedrooms and a lovely patio in the property's walled garden. This is a fantastic retreat for the summer holidays with the facilities for al-fresco eating, barbecues and a wide variety of outdoor activities nearby, though for those 'English Summer' days, the property is equipped with Sky TV, a DVD player and a stereo system so that even when it rains, you won't be bored.
Known as the 'Centre of Britain', this small village is easily accessible by car, bus and train.

Clean, cosy good location accommodation
This is a great little cottage but the second bedroom is very small. It is a bunk bed which is comfortable and big enough for adults but it swamps the room and there is very very little storage space. It would be fine for a family with 2 children but not suitable for 2 couples. It was fine for us, We tossed a coin for who was going to have the bunk room. We were two friends on a walking holiday. Unrelated to the cottage but relevant if you are going for a walking holiday along the wall the AD122 bus now only runs in Northumbria. We ended up with getting Sprouls taxis for the Cumbria bit! Recommend for a couple, but not 2 couples. The bathroom was a bit cold but did pick the coldest week in May to stay.

The area was wonderful and Haltwhistle made an excellent base.

The cottage was placed perfectly for touring the area we wanted, we even ventured over the border into Scotland and down to The Lakes. The cottage was exceptionally well equipped, and perfect for our needs.
