Wonderful Week making memories
I booked the house with my partner and 10 friends to celebrate my 50th birthday and had a wonderful time in this beautiful house and grounds making happy memories. The house is close to the lovely village and beach and a short walk from 3 pubs. The house is full of character, tastefully decorated, comfortable and clean rooms. Kitchen fully equipped and spacious pantry. Bedrooms spacious, bathrooms lovely with plenty of room to find your own space. The extensive private gardens and grounds are beautifully kept. The house is well maintained and well equipped. We were very well looked after by Chris and Paddy, who with their team prepared, cooked and served a superbly delicious home cooked meal to top restaraunt standard. They dressed the table with flowers and herbs and it could not have been a more perfect setting for the unexpected added surprise of a marriage proposal. This was kindly followed the next morning, with a bottle of fizz and card from Caroline the owner. We laughed, we cried and had so much fun at Plas Gwynfryn. It is a special week I will never forget, in a beautiful setting with loved ones. We all looked forward to the week and it certainly exceeded our expectations. We will return. x

Fantastic House, Gardens and Location
We stayed as a group of friends including 10 adults and 8 children. The house is fantastic and it was a real pleasure to stay in such an impressive home. The house and gardens are huge and very well kept; despite there being 18 of us we never felt on top of one another. The children had a fantastic time exploring the gardens and made the lounge their own den! We also travelled with two dogs who loved the courtyard and gardens. All in all a great house in a fantastic location - less than 5 minutes walk from local pubs, restaurants and shops.

Weekend away with friends
This is a fantastic place as a base to explore this great corner of Wales. Locally there are a couple of pubs, about five minute walk away and a little supermarket in the village, take a torch though as when it's dark here it is dark! It is a great setting for a house. The grounds are lovely, huge lawns and some great rock garden areas to explore, the dogs we had with us were in heaven. The house looks amazing from the outside. It's hard to be too critical of such a grand house but it could be taken to another level, inside it just wasn't as grand as the outside! It was a little tired and would need some money spending on it, soft furnishings, sofas, new carpets, which were getting thread bare on stares. A jacuzzi and a good sound system would be great additions. The dining area also smelt of cigarette smoke but it was certainly large enough for us all. The Wifi never worked for anyone, good in some ways I suppose, all of us love a bit of surfing, it did of course make us more sociable though! In a rental like this all of the rooms really should have ensuites and downstairs another bathroom would be a good idea. The kitchen also needs a bit of attention, it wasn't the sexy new kitchen most of us love. It has two ovens, which were fine but the fridge was poor as was the sink, they don't belong in such a great building. That said it was full of character and charm, we had a superb time and don't let my comments put you off staying here or having your wedding, it was great.

Great venue for a family get-together
Very warm and friendly welcome from owners representatives, Patrick and Christine, who showed us around the premises and pointed out the various facilities and fire escapes. The bedrooms were clean and comfortable, and the bathrooms were clean, modern and well appointed. Likewise the kitchen was well equipped and featured an Aga, which at first looked a bit daunting but was quickly mastered. The large lounge was excellent for the family to relax in, and featured a large screen television with a Sky package. There is a large rear enclosed courtyard for pets to roam in, but the highlight of the venue was the grounds. There are large beautifully maintained gardens with extensive manicured lawns beyond which is a more natural garden on tiered levels with numerous nooks and crannies, and water features. This area can be quite slippery when wet, and there are numerous warning signs to that effect. Rabbits were often seen frolicking on the lawns before disappearing into the undergrowth. At the rear of the premises is a bridal path that leads down to the village centre (10 minutes), and the excellent Ty Mawr Hotel where we had numerous meals at very reasonable prices (highly recommended, but remember to book first as it only seats about 2 dozen). We did have some passing tourists pop in to take a tour of the house having mistakingly interpreted a nearby sign stating ?Plas Gwynfryn - country house and gardens?. Did speak with the owner, Caroline, who is an absolute angel. She not only has great business acumen, but wants to ensure her guests have a memorable and enjoyable experience whilst staying at Plas Gwynfryn. I have to say that I would have expected to have pay a lot more for such high quality accommodation. Would have no hesitation in highly recommend Plas Gwynfryn for that perfect family getaway, although I still can?t pronounce the name!
