Stunning Property
We have just returned from a weeks holiday staying in this wonderful house. We were a family of 6 adults and 4 children. We could not fault it. The owners have thought of everything even down to bottle stops. It was very clean and extremely spacious which meant the children could always find somewhere to play. The hot tub was amazing. We were very fortunate with the weather and most mornings we were in the hot tub which overlooked Pendine Sands. What better way to start the day. The views were fantastic. We had no problems with any of the equipment. We met the caretaker on the day we arrived and he was very polite and said if we needed anything at all to just ring him but we never needed to. His wife came each day to check and clean the hot tub. I have read some of the previous reviews but any problems that previous guests had have all been addressed by the owner and rectified. Our bond was refunded very quickly too. This is definitely a property I would return to if ever we all holidayed together again.

Beware. Court order required to get housekeeping bond back
I've already done a review of the house on Sykes and it appears on their site. This is an update on the situation since returning. I paid the ?200 (It's now ?500) good housekeeping bond by bank transfer as requested, in advance of the holiday. It then wasn't returned as promised. Sykes denied all responsibility saying it was between me and the owner, but wouldn't tell me who the owner was or give me the contact details. All Sykes told me was that they had tried to contact him and not had any response. They did admit that he'd done it before though! So they are knowingly letting a property to an owner who they know is dishonest. In the end I had to go through the small claims court to get Sykes to disclose the owners details, but they still insisted it was nothing to do with them. Yesterday I had a very unpleasant exchange with the owner by text after he put the phone down on me at the mention of Sykes.Eventually he transferred the money, probably to avoid the court summons. But I'm still out of pocket due to court fees. I've booked lots of places through Sykes and have never had a problem but won't ever again. This house is definitely not worth the grief.

Customer beware
Visited this house on 13th September. Extremely disappointed by the experience but even more more so by the owners reaction to our complaint. We were a small group of mums looking forward to a much needed break and specifically chose this house for the cinema room because we had plans to have pj days and just watch movies and TV. When we arrived the care taker took us round the house. When he tried to get the TV working nothing happened. There?s numerous signs on the walls saying not to touch any wires. We had nothing for the first night, the following day he provided us with a 32? tv perched on 2 small stools which sounded like a tin can! The hot tub was freezing when we arrived and took over 24 hours to heat up so no hot tub for us until the following day. The hob was a nightmare and the cooking utensils very poor. When we told Sykes the agent we booked with. They tried to contact the owner numerous times only to be finally told we wasn?t prepared to give us any compensation for our experience. The house itself is in a lovely location however think twice before you pay the extra for facilities you won?t receive. Better off paying a third of the price and staying in the caravan site down the road where they actually care about providing good facilities and a happy experience.

Stunnng property but overall a disappointing experience.
We visited 20th to 27th July, 11 of us ranging in age from 2 to 80 years of age. The property is stunnning with gorgeous sea views. However our break was hugely disappointing due to some failings. The huge tv and projector screen were not working during our visit. Our intended cinema nights could not happen. Instead a much smaller tv was provided, perched on the edge of 2 tiny coffee tables. Not very safe! The drying element of the washing machine doesn?t work, so although you can wash clothes, you are unable to dry them. This was an issue for us as some of our party had been on holiday the week before and desperately needed to wash clothes. The hob is unable to cope with 4 rings being on at the same time. It overheats, and turns all the rings off. Impossible to cook a big family meal for us. Hugely disappointing and frustrating. The bathrooms were all immaculately clean, yet in one chest of drawers there were pubic hairs and dead insects. The wheely bin is filthy. The cream sofas are grubby. Some of the kitchen equipment like saucepan lids were dirty too. We had high hopes for this week, a family get together that doesn?t happen very often. We certainly didn?t get what we were hoping for and expecting, nor what we had paid for. Not all the TVs in the rooms worked either, and it took 5 days for the issue with the tv in my bedroom to be resolved. Not much use as we?re only staying here a week. With a bit more effort our week could have been amazing. It feels as if the owner doesn?t care about paying guests. The house is on the market, so maybe that?s why. I?m surprised there hasn?t been any other disappointed guests recently.

Still awaiting the return of our deposit
The house is very beautiful but half way up a massive hill with a 20% gradient. Cycling down was very hairy, cycling up was a killer. The views are indeed stunning but the house has some serious deficits. Firstly the BBQ was filthy, I didn't fancy scrubbing it so we didn't use it. The hot tub wasn't as clean as it should be either. The white sofas need a deep clean as someone else mentioned and over all standards of cleanliness were not what you would expect for a rental costing over a thousand pounds. Since we returned I've also had trouble getting the owner to return my deposit despite there being no issues and me sending my bank details twice.
