This semi-detached cottage is located in Bretton near Chester and can sleep four people in two bedrooms.

Bretton House Cottage is a semi-detached cottage in the quiet village of Bretton just four miles from Chester. The property sleeps four people and has a double bedroom, a twin room and a family bathroom. Also in the cottage is a fitted kitchen with a dining area and a sitting room. Outside is off road parking for one car and a lawned garden. Perfect as a touring base for North Wales, Bretton House Cottage is a lovely family holiday home.

Very dirty and disappointing
Very dirty, needs a very deep clean, the trampoline is unusable as there is no protective cover over the springs, the smoke alarm didn't work, the carpet grippers spicked through the stairs carpet, the whole house stank of damp and was very dusty and dirty, I will definitely not stay there again.

Great location let down by the Cleanliness of the Cottage.
Firstly i wonder if the cottage has changed hands? Maybe that is the reason for my following comments as feedback in the guest book in the cottage seemed very positive apart from the last one left in April 2018. On a positive start the cottage is located in a nice rural area in Bretton, has good bus links to Chester and a good retail park close by, however when we arrived at the cottage we were greeted with an overgrown and neglected garden area, full rubbish and recycling bins and a large semi rotting plastic sheet all in the outdoor seating area and as the weather was so good we had to tidy and brush as best we could to at least want to sit in there, the BBQ was filthy with burned on food debris, the trampoline was somewhat unsafe to use as it had no spring cover (it was discarded under the trampoline itself) it had the trees and shrubs growing through the safety netting and was rusting, not a welcoming start and it left us concerned as to what to expect within the cottage. All in all a very poor first impression. On entering the cottage the place needs both an update and a VERY DEEP CLEAN, there was dust and debris on both high and low surfaces and it had supposedly been cleaned before we arrived!!!??? Some things can be overlooked such as general decor but the stair carpet was stained and dirty and the towels and bedding are showing age and use. The rugs in the living room were dirty and had debris on them that a simple hoover removed and the hoover itself was full and on display!!! I appreciate this is a pet friendly cottage and that due to that it isn't going to be a show home, we wouldn't want that either however a CLEAN cottage is what we do expect. I was glad i had prepared my dog with frontline before we came on holiday. The bathroom smelt foisty and had mould growing around the bath and grouting after a week of applying a bleach solution my husband managed to get rid of this so why couldn't the cleaners? The bathroom flooring next to the bath had a deep ridge full of a liquid "soup" heaven knows what was in that. Lastly in the kitchen on the windowsill is a framed notice saying to call a number if we had any problems and the emblem is " Dustbusters - Extreme cleaners ", need i say more? . We would NOT use this cottage again.

A very relaxing cottage in lovely countryside, although not far from shops etc.

I liked the fact that we had the cottage to ourselves. I liked the decor in the cottage, it had a warm and cosy feeling. It was clean, well looked after and spacious.
