Mr Firstly I will say the barn the surroundings and everything about the place Is stunning...
But the owner on the other hand absolutely shocking I took my girlfriend for a relaxing weekend has shes 6 months pregnant only to realise the bath was flooding the bathroom when we tried to use it which meant we missed our meal we booked also.
This wasn?t fixed until 36 hours after we arrived although the owner suggested that it had been fixed first night..
As the shower is also in the bath we had no way of properly showering or bathing and obviously with a pregnant girlfriend relaxing was the main aim of the weekend..
I paid ?330 for 2 nights and the owner offered me a shocking £68 refund and blocked me on all possible ways of contact 781rick 2020-03-03
Lovely cottage A lovely little cottage on the beautiful and peaceful Tissington estate. We stayed for 3 nights for my husbands birthday as he wanted to cycle both the Tissington and High Peak Trails. The cottage itself is very comfortable for two with a lovely view of the pond. It had all the facilities needed, the owner had left us a welcome gift of wine and biscuits, along with a small carton of milk, tea, coffee and sugar which was very considerate. They only negatives really were the lack of information in the folder in relation to the appliances (found eventually in kitchen ) and no instructions for the smart TV (we were hoping to access our netfkix account) and no information about recycling our waste. These are minor points though as they didn?t impact on our enjoyment of the cottage. To be honest could have stayed longer as we felt so relaxed away from the hustle and bustle of city life. Highly recommend a visit to the candle shop and vintage sweet shop . awalto2 2019-05-12
Stunning location and immaculate cottage We have just returned from a weeks break at the Fire brigade barn in the picturesque village of Tissington.
The cottage is delightful in every way. It is immaculately presented and the view over the pond is beautiful.
The kitchen is well equipped and the extra touches really made us feel welcome.
The bed is so comfortable with top of the range bed linen and the bathroom with its free standing, roll top bath is fantastic after a long day walking! If you prefer to shower, then there is a powerful shower over the bath.
We really didn?t want to leave!
The cottage sleeps 2, but there is a sofa bed in the lounge.
The Tissington trail is right on the doorstep- which we managed to complete.
The people in the village are all so friendly and made us so welcome.
We will definitely be back- our well behaved cockapoo loved his first holiday! Thank you for a lovely week! lisahammond 2018-04-29
Lovely peaceful break Lovely property set in an ideal location, take away the cars and you could be 100 years back in time - unspoilt.
The cottage was lovely and clean and very comfortable, there could have been a little more kitchen equipment, e.g sieve, baking dishes and perhaps more literature on bin collections etc but these are only small issues, it did not spoil our week F B 2017-04-09
Excellent cottage in picturesque village Cottage was spotlessly clean and very spacious and well furnished. The kitchen was new and modern and equipped with everything you would need. The big bedroom had a very comfortable king size bed, with a large en-suite bathroom. The whole property had a very light and airy feeling, while still managing to retain a cozy cottage atmosphere.
It has a great location in the estate village of Tissington, opposite the village duck pond and just around the corner from your neighbours in Tissington Hall.
The ducks on the pond provide plenty of simple entertainment, as well as vocal accompaniment to a leisurely breakfast.
There are plenty of walks directly from the cottage along the Tissington Trail and into Dove Dale, and the local bus service comes in handy for "one way" walks.
We had a great weekend at Fire Brigade Barn and hope to stay again. It's great for Spring and Summer when you can be out all day and during light evenings, and also for lazy days and cozy evenings indoors in Winter. alan g 2016-10-16
