Brilliant Lake District accommodation
Stayed here Aug 2019 for 1 week as a family, 9 of us in our group and this place suited us perfectly. Lovely location walking distance from little town of bowness which has an abundance of shops, restaurants and the Beatrix Potter attraction. Property offers two allocated car spaces outside and further space in nearby overflow car park. Electric door entry is handy, no faffing about with keys, lovely little porch to store shoes and coats. The accommodation was 5 bedrooms, all are king size zip link beds so can be made up as twins as needs although as twins the beds are narrow so better suited to young children. Good kitchen amenities, extra fridge in utility was very useful. Hot tub was a lovely bonus, the garden is basically a large field brilliant for kids to run around in and spot frogs, rabbits, squirrels. Lovely little patio area with a table and chairs. The kids made friends with other children staying in neighbouring properties and had such fun in the garden. The grounds maintenance guy who checked the hot tub daily was great, gave some good tips on what to visit with kids. Something to watch out for - hot water system can?t handle more then 4 people showering around the same time, it will run out so stagger showers between evening and morning if poss. There's so much to see and do in Bowness, it offers so much and it's a short drive to other brilliant attractions / sites too or jump in the ferry and head to other lakeside towns. Rowan Cottage met all our needs for a 1 week stay in Lake District, would highly recommend.
