At the foot of the Brendon Hills on the edge of the Exmoor National Park, near the small hamlet of Waterrow is Surridge Farmhouse. This handsome, detached Grade II listed farmhouse, dates back to the 17th century and seamlessly combines elegant modern living with original period features. The ground floor comprises a smart kitchen/breakfast room with Aga and additional conventional oven, an excellent dining room with wood burning stove and an enormous 29ft lounge with fireplaces at either end, traditional beamed ceilings and original window seats.
The games room with TV/DVD, bean bags, table football and air hockey is perfect for rainy days or just keeping the children occupied. The original half-turn staircase leads up to five bedrooms on the first floor. The enormous master double has lovely rural views and an en suite shower room, and there are a further two doubles, a twin and a single room.
Two further bathrooms complete the accommodation. Surridge sits in a ring fence of 80 acres of pasture and woodland with its own Iron Age Fort perfect for exploring, or perhaps relax in the illuminated six person hot tub on the large south facing patio whilst taking in the endless views across the surrounding countryside.

Beautiful break!
We stayed here after shielding through lock down due to a high risk child, we wanted to go away but didn?t want to go anywhere busy... So glad we booked Surridge farmhouse! It was stunning... we spent august bank holiday weekend there Friday to Monday as two families in a bubble... 4 adults and 6 children... may sound like chaos but the cottage and grounds are so spacious it didn?t feel chaos!
Nearest shop is 6 miles away so stock up on the way in! Hot tub is beautiful... thanks and see you again soon
