This property provides comfortable, well-furnished accommodation for five people over two bedrooms – one first floor double, and one ground floor twin with additional fold out bed - as well as a small kitchen and a sitting-room with dining area.

Converted from a former barn this quaint, period cottage is situated on the owner's working farm in the peaceful hamlet of Penselwood. Just two miles from Bourton and five miles from Gillingham, amid the glorious countryside on the borders of Dorset, Somerset and Wiltshire, this pretty cottage makes an excellent base from which to explore the area. Guests also have access to shared use of the owner's lawned garden – ideal for picnics, ball games and barbecues.

The property is well served by the local town of Bourton whilst slightly further afield are a wide range of activities.

Idyllic
Just got back from a week away in this beautiful little cottage. Perfect quiet location to get away from it all. Cottage was clean and functional, living room seating a little uncomfortable for enjoying a night in though, but lovely and cosy otherwise. Other than taking your own towels the cottage is very well equipped for everything you need. Great location to go for days out and great walks with the dog. However, do be careful with the online penselwood walks, lacking in detail which you only discover once you're out there, take your phone for GPS. Lovely garden area across the lane for enjoying your morning cup of tea or an evening tipple. Farm fresh eggs, a small jug of milk and a vase of garden flowers were a lovely welcome.

Having a holiday on a working farm is excellent for small children, and our son really enjoyed being introduced to the animals by the friendly owners of the property. The Old Bull Stall is also perfectly situated for visiting various sites of interest in the local area.

A beautiful cottage in a lovely location. It was fully equipped with everything you could possibly need. It is close to Wincanton which has large supermarkets. There are lovely walks in the local area and it is close to lots of great attractions. We were really sad to leave.

Should be a higher star grade, it was amazing. It is such a beautiful place to be, it's a life I dream of.

Ms
Very peaceful location. Cute and cosy little cottage with adequate supplies (it is made clear you need to bring your own towels). Small and uncomfortable sofa and chairs with wooden railings hard to relax on. Wifi advertised but signal literally non-existent and no mobile phone signal either so awkward if you do need to keep in touch. Ideal for a couple of walkers looking to get away from it all. Not so good for dog owners due to 'garden' being overgrown field across muddy lane so a mission to let dog out every time.
