Awful!!!
I booked this cottage for six nights and suffered one!! It was freezing! The radiators did not work properly. When contacting the owner, she was rude and unhelpful and said I should go elsewhere!! She promised a heating engineer was in his way one minute, twenty minutes later said she would try and contact one the next day. I suggested a fan heater, she rejected that idea. My first night was spent in thermals and a dressing gown and I still shivered. Even my dogs were cold. Apart from this the cottage was dirty, though don't worry about this, the owner has an amazing selection of cleaning products so you can rectify her low standards. You?ll find them all thrown in the cupboard under the sink including the full dustpan and brush she has also deposited there. If you're not very fit, you will be by the time you've unpacked your car. The parking is four houses up. The property is on a main road with no footpath. My best advice is to grab your suitcase, wait for a break in the traffic, run like mad to the next gateway, take cover until traffic passes then repeat till you get to the cottage. Once you've finally made it with your luggage and you're gasping for a cuppa, you can forget this idea as well, not even a basic welcome pack. So, you've brought your own tea, sugar and milk, your cup is dirty, well I hope you've got your own washing up liquid. Each bedroom has one socket, no bedside lamps and nowhere to charge a mobile. If you want to dry your hair and use a mirror, you will either have to be a contortionist or forget that idea. The bathroom was dirty and the shower dribbled a mediocre amount of hot water before becoming lukewarm. Ok, so you've finally made it to sit down and watch tv. Be prepared to wrestle with the sofa covers which are ripped and filthy. Fear not, there is a throw to cover these up. For the positives, the view is nice if you can block out the noisy traffic. The last positive is that camping in February now looks inviting.
