Rocks Cottage, a quaint pet-friendly house in Halifax, West Yorkshire, boasts stunning elevated views, a hot tub, a woodburning stove and enclosed gardens. Bradford less than 8 miles; Huddersfield less than 12 miles; Leeds less than 21 miles.

Rocks Cottage is a characterful house set in an elevated position on the outskirts of Halifax, West Yorkshire. Enjoying stunning views across the surrounding landscape, easy access to the Yorkshire Dales National Park, a woodburning stove and a bubbling hot tub, this space is well-suited to families and groups of friends. The approach immediately sets the scene, guiding you down a narrow lane where electric gates open to reveal a neatly presented, brick-built house overlooking the golf course.

With birdsong in the background and open views ahead, the setting feels removed from the everyday. Steps lead up to the front decking, where potted plants soften the space and outdoor furniture invites you to pause, perhaps easing into the hot tub while taking in the outlook across the course and rolling hills beyond. A glass balustrade frames the view without interrupting it, making the elevated position a real highlight from the moment you arrive.

A door leads up into the main living accommodation, where the layout encourages time together. The large kitchen is a natural hub, anchored by a range cooker ready for hearty breakfasts and evening feasts, while the fridge freezer and dishwasher make longer stays easy. At the centre, a double-sided woodburning stove adds warmth and atmosphere, shared with the dining room on the other side.

Bifold doors open straight out to the garden, letting fresh air drift in as meals are prepared. The dining area is arranged around a large pine table with benches, creating a relaxed space for long dinners, board games and morning coffee, with a TV nearby and doors opening out to the garden for easy flow between inside and out. A cloakroom sits close by, finished with characterful artwork that gives the space a charming feel.

From here, the sitting room draws you in with its generous proportions and striking views. A large corner sofa invites everyone to settle in, whether for a film on the mounted TV or simply to sit and watch the light change over the golf course. Doors open out onto the front decking, blurring the line between inside and outside and making it easy to step back out and enjoy the elevated views once more.

Stairs lead up to the first-floor landing where the main bedroom offers a sense of retreat, with an emperor-size bed, a large window framing far-reaching countryside views, and doors opening onto a Juliet balcony. A sofabed provides a quiet spot to sit, while the en-suite features a roll-top bath positioned so you can soak and admire the scenery, along with a basin and WC. A twin bedroom sits nearby, decorated with artwork that gives it warmth and personality, while the family bathroom stands out with its stylish basin and a bath and shower to freshen up in.

A step up leads into a family room with a double and single bed, where artwork lines the walls and a feature fireplace, windows look out over the side garden, keeping the outdoor spaces connected to the room. Two further steps rise into another family bedroom, where a king-size bed is paired with a dressing table and a charming Wendy house-style bunk bed. A chandelier hangs overhead, and mullion windows frame lovely views, giving this room a real sense of character.

Outside, the side garden offers something for everyone, with a patio for relaxed outdoor meals, a lawned area for play and a fire pit that becomes a natural gathering point as evening falls. Furniture throughout the garden makes it easy to linger outdoors from morning through to dusk. Everyday essentials are within easy reach, with a local shop and a welcoming pub found a short journey away, while Halifax offers a wider choice of places to eat, drink and explore.

Beyond the town, the surrounding area opens up a wealth of days out. The Yorkshire Dales National Park invites long walks through sweeping valleys, quiet lanes lined with dry stone walls and viewpoints where the scale of the landscape feels endless. Halifax itself rewards exploration, from the engaging galleries of Eureka! The National Children’s Museum, to the historic rooms and gardens of Shibden Hall, and the characterful streets filled with independent cafés and shops.

Located just a short distance from the charming village of Haworth, guests can explore its iconic cobbled Main Street, independent shops, cosy cafés and traditional pubs. Famed as the home of the Brontë sisters and surrounded by the stunning Yorkshire moors, Haworth offers a wonderful blend of history, culture and scenic walking routes, making it a fantastic destination to enjoy throughout the year. A trip to Hebden Bridge adds a creative edge, with canal-side walks, hillside paths rising above the town and a lively mix of galleries and small retailers that give the area its distinctive feel.

Discover Rocks Cottage and start planning a West Yorkshire stay filled with views, space and standout moments together.
