St Mary's Church in Capel-le-Ferme is a small medieval church in an isolated position looking across open downland towards Folkestone. There is only one window, of Norman date, to illuminate a simple interior.
The most interesting feature of the church is a three-arched 14th-century stone rood screen, which has an arched opening over the rood. This is thought to be a unique feature in English churches and is quite striking to view.
The roof is medieval timber-framing, and there is a 13th-century font. There are traces of a medieval wall painting in the window recess, and a small medieval memorial brass, as well as richly decorated stained glass.
The church is no longer in use for regular worship but has been preserved by the Churches Conservation Trust.
