This attractive village sign stands on the green. It shows a Victorian (or earlier) gentleman in a top hat playing cricket on the green. When I took this photo there were indeed a group of local enthusiasts playing cricket immediately beyond this sign. Benenden is like that; a place that exudes a sense of heritage and timelessness.
