The Story Behind the Image - Fairy Glen, Isle of Skye
The Fairy Glen is a magical place, a 'Scotland in miniature' area of peaks, valleys and lochs up a country road near Uig, on the west coast of the Trotternish peninsula of Skye.
Our family has visited the Fairy Glen several times; its the sort of place you want to return to again and again.
At the top of the photo is a peculiar rock formation called Castle Ewen, so-called because from one angle it really does look like a medieval castle tower.
This is one of the easiest photos I've ever taken in Scotland; the small loch at the foot of Castle Ewen is immediately beside the road leading into the Fairy Glen.
