The Story Behind the Image - Loch Mor, Glendale, Skye

I was driving through the township of Glendale, on the west coast of the beautiful Isle of Skye, on my way to photograph the historic lighthouse at nearby Neist Point.

I came around a bend in the road and saw this amazing view over Loch Mor. I was so keen to reach Neist Point that I did not stop, but continued on my way to the lighthouse where I spent the next hour happily photographing the headland and the lighthouse.

When the sun got too low I packed up my camera bag and hopped back in my car.

To my surprise the loch was still lit by the sun, so I found a place to pull off the road onto the verge and clambered down the slope of the hill to find this vantage point. What an amazing view, and so typical of Skye!
