Pleasant Holiday Cottage
Ambleside has been our favourite location in the Lakes for 50 years. The cottage rates as highly as any we have occupied over that period. Facilities are better than most. Would recommend to others.

Lovely clean cottage
Excellent area with great access to Ambleside and Windermere. Lots of great walks. Cottage clean and comfortable providing all necessary comforts. Didn't find any problems as described in a previous review. Will stay again.

Could be cleaner
Very good location. Down side, not checked very well before we arrived. 3 lights in lounge not working. Thermostat faulty and loose on wall. Heating in 2 of 3 bedrooms not working. Kicker board in kitchen not fixed. Oven is absolutely filthy, never been cleaned. Grill pan and large baking tins not fit for use, too dirty. Fridge and freezer not clean. Carpets very dirty throughout. Whole place needs decorating, paintwork disgusting. Garden furniture to dirty to use. Not good value for money. No instructions for boiler/ heating.

The cottage was great, very spacious and clean with a lovely decor and an amazing garden that we enjoyed a drink in in the evenings after our walks. The cottage was well equipped and we just loved the wet room. It had plenty of games, dvds and books too. In an excellent location to Windermere, Bowness and Ambleside with plenty of places to eat out, as well as being well situated for our planned walks from the Kirkstone Pass, Nanny Lane and Ings Lane. All in all we had a great week, made more so by the excellent accommodation and the glorious weather.
