Refurbished to a high standard, this charming holiday home has plenty of character including original beams and a wood burning stove in the open plan living and dining room.

The conservatory is the perfect place to take in the lovely views of the surrounding countryside and relax after a busy day sightseeing. The Shaker style kitchen is fully equipped and there's a separate utility room perfect for muddy boots. There's also a ground floor cloakroom with wash basin and WC.

The accommodation is laid out over three floors with two boutique hotel style double bedrooms, both with en-suite bathrooms, on the first floor with views out to the Dutton estuary. At the top of the house, there's a large bedroom with 4 single beds - ideal for children - and a bathroom with bathtub, hand basin and WC. The garden at Greety Gate House is particularly lovely with a lawn surrounded by mature shrubs and borders, a summerhouse and garden seating to take in the views towards the Duddon Estuary and nearby Black Combe Fell.

There are plenty of different areas to explore including the feature pond, and the garden is fully enclosed making it perfect for children and pets. There's also off road parking for 3 cars. With plenty of walks and open countryside on the doorstep, plus the lovely village of Broughton in Furness, you won't have to venture far from Greety Gate House to find something to do.

Ideally situated between Lake Windermere and Coniston Water, both a 15-minute drive, the immediate area is filled with family-friendly attractions including Go Ape, the Lakeside and Haverthwaite Railway, South Lakes Wildlife Park and Aquarium of the Lakes. The Lake District is Britain's most popular national park and no wonder - there really is something for everyone. From superb historical buildings like Muncaster Castle to award-winning food and drink, and of course the spellbinding scenery of cloud-topped mountains and shimmering lakes, the Lakes are an area of outstanding natural beauty tailor-made for a family holiday.

Enjoy a lake cruise around Windermere on one of the famous steamers, or enjoy some of the finest walking country in the world. Perfect for families or a large group of friends, Greety Gate House is the ideal starting point for an exploration of the Lake District at any time of year.

Excellent pet friendly cottage with many lovely touches.
This was a great base for us to visit the lakes and family in Barrow. The cottage had all we needed and the welcome flowers, chocolates, wine etc were very much enjoyed. Even the dog was left some treats! The location of the cottage is lovely with uninterrupted views of the Dudden estuary. Easy access to the Dudden valley anc further afield. We will be back and would recommend it.

Lovely welcoming house, dog-friendly, perfect place to stay
We were very impressed with this house, it's very spacious and eight people can stay very comfortably with lots of car parking space. Dog friendly. Appreciated the welcome pack on arrival with wine and chocolates, plus tea bags and milk! Kitchen provided everything we needed, bedrooms and bathrooms are beautifully decorated and the house throughout is very clean and well maintained. The gardens are delightful and the house feels very private and not overlooked. The owners are very welcoming without being intrusive and I would highly recommend staying in Greety Gate House.

Lovely cottage
Really nice cottage, ideal for family getting together! Good size overall and little extras such as wine/biscuits were really nice. We stayed Friday-Monday and it rained most of the time, so we made the most of the wood burning stove!

Miss
We used this house to celebrate my Mums 60th. Perfect house for a mixture of ages, friends and family. My grandparents found it comfortable and the friends found it great for dinner parties! Lovely kitchen and living spaces. The owner left some lovely little touches for our arrival and plenty of info in the property about the local area. Great house for family gatherings!
