A gorgeous house in a stunning location - cant wait to go back!
Balvaig is a very special property. We spent so much of our week there just sitting watching the birds and the ever changing colours and light over the tummel valley. The views are amazing and its just so peaceful and relaxing. Wow is the only word I can use to describe the house with so much light and space, The lounge is so comfy with lots of throws and cushions and those huge windows to watch the views. The house is lovely and warm but on one chilly evening we lit the log burner and the heat it threw out was amazing. The kitchen is bright and spacious and so well equipped and the huge dining table is something else. It was on that dining table we found a basket of welcoming treats - thanks so much. The bedrooms are all bright and airy and the beds so comfy with lovely crisp white linen and a view from every window, Two great bathrooms one with a walk in shower and one with a shower over the bath. Lots of hot water and good water pressure with lovely hair and body wash provided. From one bathroom there is a great view over the garden and what a garden it is. An orchard with apples. plums and pears and a hammock. Never expected to be lazing in a hammock surrounded by bees and butterflies and birds - bliss. As well as the wildlife areas of the garden a more formal area has a table and chairs and most mornings thats where we ate breakfast. We found it hard to tear ourselves away from Balvaig but we did manage a local walk to black spout falls and the edradour distillery (hope its open next time we visit) and we also visited the House of Bruar, Highland Safaris at Aberfeldy, Kenmore and the Birnam Oak. A really great day was spent at the Highland Safari Park (about 40 miles north) and saw some amazing animals. Balvaig is in a great location with so much to do and see close by but the house itself is just gorgeous and its so easy to spend time just being there. Absolutely loved it and got quite tearful when we were leaving. The owner was very accessible and couldnt have been more helpful. We will definitely return and would definitely recommend.
