What a huge expensive mistake
Arrived at the property to find the whole front garden a complete building site. Planks of wood exposed manhole covers, granite rocks, hardcore bags and rubbish everywhere. What a lovely first impression, the owner told me he was having front wall repaired. That was an understatement. The back garden/patio as described by Sykes Cottage proved wo be a 10 ft by 12 ft concrete yard. with rusty old folding cheap nasty patio chairs, Builders ladder, spades, bucket etc strewn about and a huge shed. No where for the dog or children to play. The house itself is ok. Everything is a it cheap and nasty. Mostly IKEA type fittings. Huge animal skin on floor of bedroom and chairs. Not great for a family of vegans and vegatarians! The village is picturesque but there are no amenities close by, the local pub serves gourmet food and ones not welcome y are not very welcoming so you have to drive quite a distance to everything. We managed to enjoy ourselves but feel the property priced at ?3450 per week was vastly overpriced and the owner and Sykes very unhelpful when we complained.
