Ashby de la Zouch Museum
A small museum standing almost in the shadow of historic Ashby-de-la-Zouch Castle. Ashby Museum has exhibits of Ashby's past, with special attention devoted to the castle. There are displays of local archaeology, Roman history, maps, and basically anything related to Ashby's past.
The museum maintains a collection of local genealogical records, including census records, cemetery, and parish records. There is a collection of over 3000 historic photographs of Ashby town, and a library of documents and articles. Ashby Museum received an award as Leicestershire Museum of the Year in 2007.
There are regular guided walks around historic Ashby led by museum staff. The museum also publishes a regular magazine of local history, available for a small fee.
