Warm and welcoming, this property features an open plan sitting room, a charming bedroom with an en-suite bathroom and stunning views of the countryside.

A splendid Teesdale cottage, this unique property is a ground floor wing of a stone-built detached barn, only one minute from the village centre on the edge of the charming village of Romaldkirk. Carefully renovated and distinctly styled, the cottage, all on one level, has been well appointed throughout to provide good quality comfortable accommodation in a tranquil location, just the place for that romantic hideaway. An open-plan living room opens out onto a tranquil garden, while the kitchen provides all modern appliances and a comfortable dining area.

Just beyond the cottage are a myriad of scenic walks and nature trails, whilst the superb pub with its award winning food are just a minutes stroll, as is the lovely village green.

What a wonderful week
A thoroughly enjoyable week in a wonderfully relaxing and enjoyable location free from the influence of Wi-Fi, did not use the laptop for the whole week, MARVELOUS! My wife and I together with our dog Barney have spent another thoroughly relaxing week in this idyllic location and will be returning again to this very special barn conversion. The conversion of a traditional barn has been completed to an exceptionally high standard and has been undertaken in a most sympathetic manner to make the most of the original features and the space available. The owners are extremely welcoming, helpful and lovely to talk to. Bonuses are the donkeys Wilfred and Parkin and Rollo the new Labrador dog. A nice touch is the lovely orchard at the rear to sit in with a glass of wine and a good book or a pair of binoculars to watch the wildlife and even cook-up a barbeque. The property is beautifully kept to a very high standard and is in a fantastic location at the end of the village green and only a short stroll away from a great pub/hotel/restaurant (The Rose and Crown). Private parking with lots of space is good. There are a number of walks virtually from the front gate of the property which in itself is a good base for exploring the immediate area, Teesdale, Durham, Cumbria, Lake District, Hadrian's Wall and Holy Island on the North East Coast. A visit to the local Church of St. Romald is well worth a visit. Thoroughly recommend this cottage for singles or couples with or without a dog.

My partner and I and our Dog Tyke had the most amazing time at this very special cottage. The workmanship that has gone into this cottage is to the highest standard. The owners are very welcoming and lovely to talk to. Wilfred and Parkin the donkeys are a bonus. Lovely orchard at the rear to sit in with a glass of wine and a good book. Private parking with lots of space. Five minute walk to the Rose and Crown, which is dog friendly with good food. A good base to explore Durham, Cumbria, Lake District, and Holy Island on the North East Coast. Wish we could have stayed longer and would highly recommend this warm comfortable cottage in this amazingly peaceful village. It fully deserves its Four star rating.

This is a lovely property - compact but ideal for us. The owners were friendly but not intrusive. We will go back.
